Individual medals will be presented to the top three places in each weight class following the ensuing bout. The top three finishers in each weight class must be in full warm-ups for the awards ceremonies, wearing no hats or headgear, and are required to participate in this recognition program. Medical Help: A certified athletic trainer will be present during the entire tournament. Regional Meet: The top four wrestlers in each weight class will qualify for the regional meet. The Eastern Region Wrestling Tournament will be held Friday and Saturday, February 14th and 15th at Clover Hill High School. Seeding Info: The seeding meeting will be held Monday, February 3rd at Green Run High School. The Conference 1 seed meeting will take place at 6:00PM. The Conference 9 seed meeting will take place at 7:30 PM. Corner: Only two people per school are permitted in the mat corner. Everyone else must remain seated in the bleachers. SPORTSMANSHIP: Good sportsmanship is viewed as a commitment to fair play, ethical behavior and integrity. In perception and practice, sportsmanship is defined as those qualities which are characterized by generosity and genuine concern for others. The ideals of sportsmanship apply equally to all activity disciplines. Individuals, regardless of their role in activities, are expected to be aware of their influence on the behavior of others and model good sportsmanship. Please remind your athletes of the Sportsmanship Rule (VHSL Handbook, 27-13-1) and its continued importance for this tournament. |

Passes: Faculty Passes (Conference Schools) Superintendent’s Pass (bearer plus guest) Media (with appropriate credentials) VHSL Wrestling Officials’ Association VHSL Coaches’ Association VHSL Eastern Region Administrator’s Pass VHSL Membership Card VATA Pass (athletic trainers) VIAAA Pass (athletic administrators) A valid DMV Operator’s License (or other valid I.D. must be shown) Scratches: Seeded wrestlers not making weight on Friday, February 7th will cause a bracket to be redrawn. Rules: The current edition of the VHSL Handbook and National Federation Wrestling Rules Book will be used. Uniforms: Approved wrestling team uniforms must be worn. Each school must provide headgear. Wrestlers must wear their full team warm-up during the awards presentation, with no hats or headgear. Facilities: Green Run High School is pleased to host the Conference Wrestling Tournament. Should you require any assistance at any time, please contact the tournament personnel. While it should not be necessary to comment on the principles of good sportsmanship or behavior at a tournament of this nature, experience has shown that a lack of discipline can lead to unfortunate events. The students participating in this tournament must be under the direct supervision of the coach or a faculty representative at all times. WRESTLERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BRING FOOD, DRINKS, OR COOLERS INTO THE GYMNASIUM AT ANY TIME. Please make every effort to keep the locker rooms as clean as possible. Each school/participant is responsible for providing its own locks and towels. Concessions: Concessions will include meal items for wrestlers and for spectators along with a variety of snacks and soft drinks. No food, drink, or coolers are permitted in the gymnasium at any time. Souvenir programs will be sold at a nominal cost to spectators, and there will be special Conference Wrestling apparel for sale.
