Geez, you are so good at this. I was going to try to add the new coaches info but you are currently doing it. You go girl!
Tamara, I have reviewed the files below and think we should use signals, skin lesion, and pound allowance. Remove the past winners and weigh in procedures. The VHSL has a page for wrestling for WCP (weight control program) and at the bottom of the page is a link to Fairfax County PS. The link has a lot of info that our parents and wrestlers will find very helpful. I think we should go with that instead of the weigh in procedures. Look it over, I think you will agree.
Hope your field trip was a good one. I spent the afternoon at the substitute onboarding class. The speaker, Lyvonnia Revels, was great. She made boring information fun.

Susie.... I added the files tonight, and I agree that the Fairfax County had a ton of information, but it was not there tonight. Glad the onboarding was interesting but I have no idea who she is. It was nice to see you tonight. I wish we had an easier schedule... at least the Va Aquarium thing did not pan out so that is one less thing I have to worry about this year. I am so glad we have a full and busy life, I just need a break once in a while! Some adult time is all I need! Anyway, I will talk to you soon!
I added a FAQ page that I borrowed from another website. Will you look at it and see if you see anything that is not OK. I will show it to Trey also. Ben came home complaining of a hurt chest. He said he was rammed by another kid hard and he is having difficulty raising up his arms.
I think Ben probably has sore muscles. He will be ok after a day or two. Give him some ibuprofen and keep him hydrated.
The FAQ page is a good idea. Hopefully parents will use it to better inform themselves. I like all of your ideas, you've been a great help. Did you ask Rodney about a blog page? I see that you have something set up. He would probably enjoy blogging about wrestling. Even if he posts something once a week, it's a good thing to have on the site. I will try to find someone to handle new singlets for this year. I have someone in mind and if I can get her to handle the order I will let you know. We may want/need to post the info on the site.
You are probably correct. Ben also had some brain damage at birth when he turned blue at about six hrs old, and they had to "bring him back" due to group b strep. At 12 hrs, he had a spinal tap to check for meningitis and he was in the hospital for 2 weeks for IV antibiotics once they figure it out. With the brain damage comes an unusual fear because he is missing some self start and the ability to adapt to situations. With that, he will worry until he gets checked out and will not be able to go to school. Eventually the anxiety will turn into a panic attack and then he will be out for a week, so it is easier to get him in early and get the doc to tell him that he is OK. Ben has an IEP for the documented damage to his brain. It is all frontal lobe which controls executive functioning skills - these are self start skills, so he is like a deer in headlights with new info. Needless to say, we try to push him out of his comfort zone as much as we can, but he takes steps backwards and we just keep pushing him out into the world. Little by little he has improved significantly from where they ever thought he would be. I know you knew about this, but all the testing shows no development in the areas of the brain that were damaged at birth, so there are no cells there to reproduce and repair themselves since they were either not developed or killed by the anoxia at birth.
As for the singlets, if you are not able to get someone else, we can help. Between Trey and I we can take care of it. Yes, I will put something up. Do we have the pics of them from last year?
I had no idea about Ben and his health issues. Have you taken him to the doctor yet? I hope everything with his chest turns out to be something easily treated.
Don't worry about the singlets, I will get someone to do it. You and Trey are doing quite enough for the club. I have handled the order in the past but would like to bring other parents into the club loop. I plan to contact the Mom I have in mind later today. If she says her plate is too full, I will send an email out to the masses and see if I can get a taker. Someone will do it. Let's give it a couple of days.
